About this project
This Bray awning combines a four-metre width with a shorter 2.5m projection. Lighting in the arms adds an evening feature without changing the compact canopy proportions.
The dimensions make this a useful example where a deep canopy is not required. U095 fabric is paired with anthracite construction, keeping the frame dark around the fabric.
Keeping a shorter canopy useful in the evening
A shorter projection can suit the intended layout without removing the option of evening lighting. The Bray installation includes LEDs within its arms while keeping the canopy reach to 2.5m.
For a similar outdoor area, identify the part that needs shade and where people sit after dark. These may be the same area, but discussing both uses helps establish whether the proposed dimensions and lighting arrangement make sense together.
Solution and installation
The unit is motorised and includes a wind sensor. Once extended, the arms place the LEDs beneath the canopy. The photographs show how the awning sits on the building and the scale of its outward reach.
Key benefits and project details
- 400cm width with a 250cm projection
- U095 fabric on an anthracite full cassette
- LED lighting in the arms
Location and surrounding areas
This project was completed in Bray.
For a smaller outdoor area in Bray, Shankill or Greystones, describe how far the useful space extends from the wall. This shorter canopy with arm lighting gives a reference for combining shade and evening use at that scale.
FAQ — Bray

Is the lighting separate from the awning?
The LEDs are integrated into the arms of the installation.
Can a shallower canopy still have integrated arm lights?
This Bray project combines a 2.5m projection with LED arm lighting. The available arrangement should be confirmed for the model and dimensions being considered.
